We are considering slate in our kitchen, however I am concerned about it's durablity with 2 ex racing greyhounds. (the doggy door is in the kitchen) They have long nails and (http://maplered.com) go in and (http://maplered.com) out so many times a day, always trying to grab traction while running through the kitchen.
